Friday, December 26

Woke up with a very slight headache, pretty good for a morning after a night out. Breakfast was on the table and I could just sit down to eat. One of the great benefits of being at my parents’ house.

All of us went to the grocery store to do some shopping, they have this amazing system where you use your store card to check out a scanner, and then just scan all the stuff you want to buy, pack your bags as you go, and then when you’re done return the scanner, swipe your card and you’re done. It’s very efficient, no standing in lines, no waiting, no hassles. I wish they would do something like this in the US.

In the afternoon, I headed into the city to go spend the gift cards I had gotten for christmas, all at H&M. I did pretty well and left with a huge bag and only about 45:- ($5) left on the card. Met my friend Linn for coffee at a cafe in a recently revamped shopping galleria, the service was terrible and they were out of almost everything. Then the actual galleria closed before the cafe, so the escalators were stopped and the front doors locked up. Luckily we were escorted down the back elevator by a very nice security guard, I wonder how all the other people got out of the cafe.

In the evening we all watched an Italian movie my sister’s boyfriend, seemlingly sick of not understanding a word people are saying, had rented. It was called I Am Not Afraid and was pretty good. I ate way too many cheese balls and went to bed feeling overstuffed for the fourth day in a row.
