After a quick cereal breakfast, some kitchen cleaning and work to the sound of video game blasters, we packed in the car and headed out to do some errands. We dropped off laundry and were planning to go through the car wash quickly, but about fifteen other people seemed to have had the same idea and there was a long line, out onto the street. So, we moved on.
We had to return a TV bench that we decided would not look so good after all to IKEA. B and I raided the food shop for candies and chocolates, and after the flatpacked stuff was returned, we walked over to the waterfront to check out the new park that was built along with the giant store. This must be the most choice IKEA location in the country, if not the world. It was a bit chilly in the air, but in the summer this will be a great hangout. We have to get bikes.
We ran on these bike ramps and raced on the grass. I stopped to pick up this stick that would be perfect to make a slingshot. Maybe this will come back to bite us if he starts using it in the house, but if he’s only allowed to shoot balls of paper it should be fine. Making your own toys rules.
We went to catch a 3D screening of Coraline at the megaplex movie theater a few blocks away. The movie was great, but the people in the audience behaved worse than usual. Talking, cellphones ringing, cocky kids kicking the seats in front, and worst of all, someone thought it was a hilarious idea to throw a Coke onto the people in front of them. Expletives were exchanged and we were scared people would pull out guns or something. We’ll definitely think twice before going to this theatre again, Netflix and the small neighborhood theatre aren’t that bad, even though they don’t have 3D.
