Friday, April 3

Slipped the morning coffee at home, in hopes of making it to the office when I am supposed to be there. It kind of worked out, except the train was stuck under the East River for what felt like half an hour but was probably more like 10 minutes. Why is it that the minute it rains nothing works properly in this city? It’s not like rain is a rare thing.

My fellow AD and I had booked a conference room to shoot some stuff that we’re planning on submitting to design awards, and we were both exhausted and so not in the mood. Photo shoot fatigue set in immediately. We had no good lighting and the camera must have weighed ten pounds. When we finished it was still only 4:30. I had some more coffee and tried to focus. My computer crashed two times and I had to relaunch the Finder two more times, not sure what is going on, but maybe my G5 believes in four-day workweeks as well.

After finishing the book I had been reading for the last week and a half on the train, I met up with M at Trader Joe’s and we stocked up on food supplies for the week ahead. No chocolate or ice cream fell into the cart by mistake — we’re so good.

At home, we made langoustine salad and garlic bread, and watched Ocean’s Thirteen on DVD. It had been put in the queue right after we came back from our Vegas trip and had finally made in into the red envelope and onto our tv screen. After about 20 minutes I fell asleep in M’s lap. I had seen the movie before.
