CSA: Foraging at Paisley Farm
One of the added benefits of joining a CSA is the ability to pay a visit to the farm where your food will be grown. Mine, Paisley Farm in Tivoli, NY, just decided to start a CSA this year. This past weekend, Habana Outpost celebrated its season opening with an Earth Day Expo, featuring kids’ activities, outdoor film screenings, an eco fashion show, workshops, local vendor booths and live music. cont.
Casa Barranca
There are some places where you just feel like the world stops turning for a minute and all the worries in the world seems to just disappear into the sunset. Casa Barranca in Ojai, California is such a place. Located on a seemingly perfect plot of land on one of the amazing vast hillsides of the area, the main estate was designed by architects Greene and Greene for oil man and Pratt Institute endower Charles Pratt in 1909. cont.
Cain Vineyard
Driving up the winding road to our destination I am slightly appalled by the speed at which the locals here take the hillside curves.
