FALL- SUZANNE RAE- F/W 2012 from PURPLE MILK on Vimeo.
Brooklyn based fashion designer Suzanne Rae recently debuted a new short film to introduce her Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Directed by filmmakers Natalia Leite and Alexandra Roxo of Knockout Pictures, the film captures the magic of those New York nights when we allow the city, its lights, music, and energy to take over us. An especially potent reminder of the spirit of this city that we all love so much, as it is going through hard times.
Inspired by personal internal revolution channeling the spirits of Jim Morrison, Aldous Huxley, and William Blake, Suzanne Rae’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection is poetic, rock-n-roll, and fueled by a quest for knowledge, spirituality and heightened consciousness. Rich velvets and wools add depth to the collection, experimenting with silhouettes to create dresses and gowns, jackets and capes as well as separates. Rae collaborated with artist SamDakota to create whimsical trompe l’oeil prints of fur and wood grain hand-screened on silk and chiffon.
